Marcus XC Hits the Pioneer Trail Cool Running

The pioneering grande dame of Texas Cross Country, Janet DeMannequin, dressed for success on the Old Chisholm Trail to prove a point. You’ve got to roll up your skirt and strap on your running shorts and shoes if you want to dance a celebratory jig at the end of a Hoedown.

Dateline September 6, 2014, Hurst, Texas: All of the Marcus Marauder XC teams performed well today (some would say like a boss, a trail boss that is) at the 2014 Pioneer Trail Run hosted by Boswell HS at the Hurst Northeast Campus of Tarrant County College. Weather conditions were warm (early race temps close to 80, and in lower 90s by the Boys JV race), and far more humid than usual for this time of year.

But the weather proved no factor, as each MXC team was cool running. They each showed they were “old hands” at the newly designed course, even if a Varsity Cowgirl (or two) Boswell JV B 2014 (31)momentarily lost the trail head – going off track and the beaten path – over the course of the race.

Notwithstanding a number of injuries plaguing each of the teams, they each corralled A1 A-OK finishes, placing first. Yee-Haw, and Carry-on!!! Pioneer Trail JV Candid-SLV-14
